File Setup
- Ensure the file matches the product's required dimensions. Ensure that the artwork is created in CMYK 300 dpi with 1/16 inch bleeds on all sides.
- Separate artwork into two files: one is for foil lamination, for which the artwork's color should be set to 100% black. Another file should be in the CMYK color space for artwork that is not foil printed.
- Export all files into PDF format with bleeds.
Important Instructions for Foil
To achieve the best results and avoid delays or unexpected print outcomes, please ensure the following:
- Supply fonts larger than 8pt.
- Use sans serif fonts for better clarity.
- Avoid placing artwork beneath the foil areas—use a mask instead.
- Avoid heavy foil coverage in areas with small or fine (non-foil) text or linework, as these may fill in or become less distinct.
- Ensure at least a 5mm foil-free area around the edges. Our system will automatically apply a 5mm gap from the trim edge on your foil files to minimize the risk of the foil peeling.
